  • Focus: Concrete Repairs on Downstream  Side of 11 Runners and 12 Pillars

  • Structure Height: 40.5 Meters

  • Hydrological Impact: Significant

  • Managed a CAD $65 Million restoration of a historic 1924 construction

  • Managed concrete repairs for critical infrastructure, including 11 runners and 12 pillars, standing 40.5 meters tall

  • Addressed significant hydrological consequences through meticulous project management

Rio Tinto CIM-Spillway 4 Study: Refurbishment Downstream Side 2023-2024

Project Overview:

  • Capital Expenditure: CAD $240 Million

  • Outcome: Increased Aluminum Billet Production to 202,000 Tons Per Year

  • Enhancements: New Furnaces, Casting Pit, Coolers, Handling, Inspection, Sawing, and Packaging Systems

  • Upgrades Required: Hydrometallurgical Area (including NaSO₄ crystallizer and tank addition) and Pyrometallurgical Area (enhancements to feed pre-heat, cooling system, ball mill, and furnace)

  • Geothermal Plant: Converts brine heat into electricity
